Random Rambling – things I don’t want to forget

Over the last few months we’ve noticed several things that make Reindeer particularly happy – his first ‘likes’ if you will. He may do a little happy dance or even laugh outright at them. I’ve decided to list them here because I don’t want to forget them as he grows and things change:

  • The magnets on the fridge – as we walk past he will squeak loudly at them
  • Playing ‘zoom’ with Dad – one of the earliest activities to make him consistently laugh
  • The safari mobile – the first object we saw him really like
  • The song ‘Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes’ – a big smile comes as soon as he realises which song we’re singing together
  • ‘Zed’ sounds, e.g., xenon

There are some other things from the last few months that I don’t want to forget:

  • When he was born the toenails on his big toes were triangular
  • I was fascinated by his ears – I’d never seen such perfect ones
  • Walking up and down the stairs would send him to sleep
  • 5pm-7pm would usually contain at least one meltdown each day for the first three months, although the rest of the day would be fine
  • Reindeer was a very noisy sleeper – I sometimes checked his crib expecting to find he’d been replaced by an unruly goblin
  • He was given a large giraffe helium balloon when he was a day old – it was still floating when Reindeer reached six months of age
